We've all known someone whose negative energy, behavior and attitudes can "clear a room." It's human and animal nature to leave an unpleasant location, but what happens to the negative energy that gets stuck in the space? The negative energy stays there until someone clears it consciously and willfully or unconsciously tries to clear it using their own energy (drains and makes people sick).
Everything is energy, therefore we use energy as a tool to clear space. To clear space:

If people or animals move into a space and inexplicably become irritated, argumentative, sick, irrational, or otherwise "break down" mentally, physically or emotionally it's possible that the space is contaminated with someone's negative energy and it needs to be cleared.
Moving into a new space is like beginning a new chapter in your life, it is always wise to clear personal space and business space before you move into it. Personal space may be a new bedroom, house, or apartment; business space includes the desk, private office, vehicle, or cubicle that you will use for a time. Remember that what is "new" to you was occupied by someone before you.

Light a white candle, you will carry the candle through the space in a clockwise direction into every room and hallway. When you go into a room open the doors on the closet (you can open dressers also if you are inclined to). Stop in each room and hallway and say the following intention out loud (or in your mind if necessary):
Please fill this room and myself (us) with pure White Light (of Christ) to balance, cleanse, purify and flow through forcing all that is not of the purity of the Creator to vacate immediately, and, from this moment on allow only that which is of the purity of the Creator to enter or come near. Thank you. (As you are repeating the intention and moving clockwise through the room, swish the energy with your free hand, swish the air or energy under and through every place in the room, e.g. under the bed, in closets, etc. As you leave the room visualize that it is surrounded by a band of purifying, protective Gold Light. Move to the next room.
"White Light" and "Gold Band" your home, your property, yourself, your family, your vehicles and vehicles around yours daily. Remember to "White Light" and "Gold Band" yourself before you Reiki anyone, and "White light" and "Gold Band" your client to keep your energies from mingling.
