We took a bag of bread for my 3-year-old grand-daughter to feed the baby ducks, geese and other birds that hatch every spring in a small lake in the middle of the city.
When we got to the shore we saw a crocodile floating in the water.
There are no crocs in Canadian water, it 's too cold. Maybe a baby croc that was let loose in spring could survive--even thrive--in Canada in the the warm spring and summer water. Regardless how it got there, there was a croc in the lake.
Oblivious to the potential danger of a hungry crocodile on the prowl, my grand-daughter ran a few meters down the shore. Pumped up with adrenaline, poised for a rescue like a pride of lions, our eyes darted back and forth between the crocodile and my granddaughter.
Faced with facts, our minds made up a story, formulated a belief and then we acted as though it was true. We were ready to croc-wrangle to protect our little girl at all costs.
That's how false beliefs are created. We all do it.
We examined the facts. The "croc" didn't move, it stayed still like a plastic toy tethered in place in the lake and we knew it was fake. Our false beliefs dissolved and, feeling more than a little stupid, we refocused on feeding baby birds.
Beliefs, including false beliefs, broadcast what our subconscious mind believes we are worthy of to the universe, this creates a strong magnetic loop and we attract it. Beliefs govern the volume of good we can accept, claim and manifest in our lives. The universe does not play tit-for-tat, it matches the essence of our beliefs for good and for bad. Can't, never, always and strong emotions such as fear or anger attracts something to be afraid of, something to be mad about. Positive beliefs and emotions such as confidence attracts success, love and joy.
The realm of possibility is both infinite and impersonal. Every experience exists for each person, our beliefs filter what we attract and experience.
I am a work in progress, too. I appreciated the croc hoax. It highlighted the need for me to constantly examine the facts, recognize the stories I make up, recognize my beliefs, release what isn't true, let go of beliefs that no longer serve me and consciously re-choose New Thoughts and new beliefs that align with what I want to create.
Sometimes pain, feeling hopeless, or experiencing depression stemming from actual events, circumstances and facts leads to false beliefs that devastate a person's spirit and lead them to commit suicide. I don't have my poop in a group all the time either, I've been there, if you are searching the internet for help I am here for you.
