Everyone is a teacher.

Jesse watched us in sheer delight like we were a clip on Americas Funniest Videos as I ran laps behind my kindergartener who ran around in circles until I caught him and put his snowsuit and boots on.

Time Standing Still

I told my son, “You did not teach a good lesson today.”

The next day his jaw dropped when he saw Jesse's mother run laps behind him in the vestibule. Okay, I admit it, it was hilarious...until she stopped…and opened a can of whoop-ass.

Jesse froze. His coat, boots and mittens went on in record time while he was harshly reprimanded, grounded and lost privileges for a week.   

The guilt on my son's face left no question: he knew he taught a bad lesson. 

Either we lead like the Little Engine who DID or we follow like a caboose on someone else's train. Those are our choices. We are all teachers.

As parents of adults, we don't chase our children around the cavernous vestibule in our mind. We stand in the energy frequency of faith and love where we hold the high watch knowing our best seeds bear fruit for our children. This is the meaning of prayer. It is done.

No one said it was easy to stop running laps around the vestibule--ask the Little Engine how difficult it is to master the demons in our mind and have faith when the terrain is rough--but we know it's possible to apply the principles of constructive thought and release it into the flow of the highest knowing it is done.

Pain Management Puzzle

The Pain Predicament

During a TV interview, two healthy-looking ladies who were suffering with pain said their pain management classes taught that it was best not to show pain {no moaning, groaning or holding body parts}, and not to talk about pain with others unless saying “no” without explanation would hurt someone’s feelings or kill the relationship.

Is this pup in pain? A group photo in a magazine's tagline was, “Which person in the group photo (of smiley-faced people) has chronic pain?” The next line said, “They all do”, including the pup in the photo. The pain management group photo and Connie-Pup's photo demonstrate that how we look may not be an accurate way to judge pain.

People who put a smile on their face and do their best in spite of pain upgrade their own mental health and give their best to the world, however, pain is a relentless beast that will take them down the minute they get home. Therein lies the conundrum: doing our best, when our best changes from one second to the next, and putting on a happy face may result in being misunderstood and misjudged; not putting on a happy face is social suicide in a world where “can’t” is judged as a sharp-edged “won’t”.

When pain management and people management collide: we don’t want to hurt your feelings, we don’t want to lose your friendship, we don’t want to talk about how much pain we’re really in cause we’ll have an emotional melt-down, it's just that when we say we can’t it’s not about you, it’s not a choice, we just can’t right now. 

Stray Dog Unlikely Pain Management Guru

Connie, a 12-year old stray dog with advanced osteo-arthritis turned out to be a pain management guru.

When Connie's whining, sleeplessness, and need for attention was deemed to be separation anxiety and her personality and personal choices were viewed as attention getting, Connie was actually waging a war with pain that was more intense than her very loving caregivers knew.  

When Connie's meds were increased her face softened, her hair laid flatter, she slept peacefully, she whined less and her exuberant, people-loving, hard-working personality surged forth: she walked faster, she pulled on the leash, she walked further until she hurt herself, and then, and only then, did she lay down and rest. 

When her pain meds were decreased her pain increased, her sleep was interrupted, she wandered around the house at night, she whined more, was capable of less...you get the drift.

There was no psychological overlay to her behaviour: Connie was unaware of medications or dosage. It was simple: the worse she felt the less she could do, the better she felt the more she did-- she did what she loved until it hurt and then she rested. This is animal nature, it is our nature: when we feel better we do better. 

For those of us managing extreme pain, including mental/emotional pain, consider Connie's situation and stop beating yourself up. Walk a mile in Connie's paws, she does her best every day, when she can do more she does more and sometimes she endures great pain and long recovery because she simply must satisfy her spirit's need to do what she loves. 

That is the nature of pain management. While Connie's first choice is to follow her spirit and do what she loves, people take care of business until it takes them down and they leave the rest, messy house, dirty dishes, lost connections. Connie's caregivers and our families and friends help us when they ride along with the ups and downs of the pain wave and they do with us when we can, do for us when we can't and don't punish us when we shouldn't have done it but we did it anyways.

Stuck in the Story

Confidence to Choose Your Path

Sometimes the dramatic stories shaping our lives overshadow the whole picture & the richness in the background of our lives fades away like it never existed.  

When we are stuck in the story, or the story is stuck in us, let's flip the script and allow the loving elements that have always supported our authentic selves to come out of the background and become the focus of our attention. 

Sometimes we go with the flow of the crowd and sometimes, like Starfall, the Ebony horse above, we step out to follow our heart. 

Let's choose our path and clomp, stomp, plod, prance and dance to the beat of our true heart. That's really why we're here.

Don't Hold Back the Miracle

We don't consciously choose everything that happens to us.

We plant flowers,

but we can't hold back life.

Weeds grow

&

 we experience things we'd didn't choose. 

All we can do is be present now, 

make our highest & best choice,

Say "yes" ...

World Peace is Not a Hope or Dream

Every major religion has its version of "do unto others as you would have them do unto you".

World peace is not a hope or a dream. When we disarm, disable, and disallow violence, drugs, and weapons from our family and community, there will be peace.

John Lennon sang "Imagine" ...  "You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only only one."

We are not dreamers! When we reach the tipping point and enough people hold peace in their hearts and homes, the consciousness and the energy frequency of the planet will shift and there will be peace.

Fill your mind with peace; let it outpour as peace in your home. Personal peace is the only path to world peace. We can do this. 

Hope for Healing Substance Abuse, Addictions



When people can't escape long-term neglect or abuse or they have traumatic loss, the experience gets suppressed in the energy field like a tight knot that can be excruciatingly painful. Not being able to process and release the pain causes people to use substances, such as food, drugs, alcohol, to try to alleviate the pain. 


Trying to stop an addiction without healing the original wound compresses and compounds the problem rather than releasing it.

Removing negative energy and providing the energy you needed when you were wounded, stops pain for long enough for you to become aware of what you are experiencing when you want to “use”… your thoughts, emotions, memories and where it is stored in your body. When suppressed energy is released and processed you vibrate at a higher frequency and your energy field works like a magnet to attract everything you need to heal the original wound and release the addiction.
         
Although miracles can happen, this is not a miracle cure. It’s a method that will support and connect you to the elements you need to release your addiction—this means you still have to do the work! This method can help with post-traumatic stress disorder, please contact me.

Give your trouble to me

Holding a negative belief, such as I cant do it, is akin to holding your breath while holding a huge boulder in front of yourself. Try as it might, the universe respects and works according to our beliefs, it cannot go over, under or through the barriers we hold true about ourselves.

Here's a plan: let it go! There can never be a void in the Universe, there can only be exchange of one energy for another.

What do you want to exchange for what you've got?  See it as yours now, see it as accomplished and already done. Scary?  Can't have it? Impossible? Never happen? Not for you? Of course when you block the very good you want by holding onto a huge, solid block it won't happen.

Let go! 

How? When you imagine and experience your desire as done, what's holding you back will come forth as a belief, thought or circumstance coupled with emotion, such as fear. Now you know. This is the "thing" you must exchange so the universe can provide the circumstance and experience you desire.

Grab onto your fully formed desire and do what you need to do to release the block and embrace your good and let it overwrite your life..

Boston Bomb Victims

My heart is with the many people who were killed, injured and traumatized by the bomb blasts in Boston yesterday. 

From the sidelines all I can do is send a huge cloud of love and Reiki knowing those who are praying for help will tap into the stream of Reiki and utilize its healing potential in their personal healing journeys. 

As we know, Reiki can't magically replace life or regrow limbs. It will support healing by attracting the exact right people, information, resources and money together to provide the elements for healing and create the best case healing scenario.

As I send Reiki and Love, I hold the idea that we are One people, united in Spirit, therefore we are love and peace, and, however far some have fallen from grace, we embrace who and what we really are and it manifests now as one peaceful & blessed nation. Gratefully and graciously I release my prayer knowing it is so in the mind of  Creation.

How Energy Medicine, Reiki, Works; Part One. New Thought, New Life

Thoughts are creative. This principle of creation governs the quality of life. 

The intelligence of the universe, thought or "the word", acts on energy, energy forms into matter and experiences. Everything that exists is a product of supreme intelligence that is governing and flowing through all of creation coupled with energy coupled with our own thoughts. 

While to a large degree the thoughts we have thought and are thinking are governing what we experience in our lives, we can't possibly control the Universe or be responsible for everything that happens, what we have complete control of are the thoughts we think and how we respond. This is our part in the co-creation process.

Being Discerning

In the one moment we know as NOW I am discerning. I am choosing. 

I let in all Light, Delight and Good. I fully embrace it into my being and I absorb it knowing I am worthy. I am discerning over my thoughts and ideas and the thoughts and ideas of others, and I release all that does not resonate with the good in me.

I attract what resonates with love and holiness and I let everything that does not resonate with goodness ping off my energy field and out of my life.

Energy Block

When energy, the life force, doesn’t flow through the energy field and body of a person, plant or animal at the vibrational essence from which it was created, it creates a block or void that allows illness or negativity to occur.

Positive change in the energy field, referred to as ‘healing’, has the potential to transform an individual and his or her life.

During the energy treatment blocked (negative) energy is removed, energy pathways are straightened, the individual’s energy field is attuned to Source energy and, like a quantum leap, time collapses. Sometimes changing the frequency of the energy field creates instant health changes, more often it causes the energy field to mysteriously attract healing elements and repel harmful elements. Spiritual Gifts

It's interesting to note that spiritual gifts, like other gifts we give, are gifts we can give to others but not give to ourselves and not grab out and get for ourselves...it proves we use the gift but we don't own it; we are the author of our intention but not of the words themselves.

And so I lovingly and joyfully Reiki people around the world, they tell me it helps, some realize amazing results, but, to my frustration, the back and neck problem I got in to Reiki to repair remains. How rude!

Well, whatever. I will continue to Reiki myself daily while I Distance Reiki everyone else who asks.

Rocking and Reiki'ing babies at the hospital has always been on my "bucket list", my love and gratitude for my beautiful healthy grand-daughter prompted me to begin volunteering now.

Babies and children are gifts, I have time to Reiki yours too.
